In this episode we explore how the worlds of the energy transition and investors are meeting. We’re joined by two guests – Mark Watts, Partner at LCP, who has a long career in the investment world, and and Sam Hollister, Head of Market Insight who has a background in energy but recently been working closely with investors.
As a partner in LCP’s investment team, Mark supports the provision of solutions for our clients as they grapple with the energy transition and the path to net zero. He is a former Chief Investment officer and CEO at a number of firms and has 35 years of investment experience. We work closely with the LCP Delta team to ensure that we offer seamless advice to our clients in this area and are able to help them navigate the critical issues and deploy their capital effectively.
Sam works within LCP Delta analytics team and leads on our external engagement and market insight. He has over 10 years’ experience within energy policy and public affairs having been a Senior Director at the leading energy trade association and most recently leading the policy team at one of the UK’s largest energy retailers.

In this episode Jon and Sandra talk with Jamie Heywood, CEO at zolar. They explore how Jamie, with a background in tech, media, and telecom sectors, sees the PV sector; trends in the wider European PV space; and the opportunities for zolar.
Jamie Heywood is CEO of zolar, Germany’s largest residential green energy marketplace. Before taking the reins at zolar, Jamie had over 30 years experience leading growing technology companies across Europe and Asia. His varied career includes running Uber’s business in UK and Northern Europe in the years after Travis Kalanick’s tumultuous departure, leading Amazon’s UK Electronics divisions through its hyper-growth stage in the UK, and launching Virgin Mobile’s businesses in both India and China. Jamie has an MBA from INSEAD, studied Psychology and Philosophy at Oxford University, and loves reading, hiking and playing squash.

Clean hydrogen is becoming an important elements of many country’s decarbonisation strategies. As supply and demand grows, so will storage requirements. In this episode, Jon and Sandra talk with LCP Delta experts Nerea Martinez and Brendan Murphy to explore the role of hydrogen storage, where it’s at, and how it will develop.
Nerea manages the Hydrogen Intelligence Service at LCP Delta. Before joining LCP Delta, she worked as a consultancy engineer in building services, designing low-carbon buildings.
Brendan leads our hydrogen team. He has spent over 10 years in the energy and low carbon sectors, with extensive policy and regulation, programme management, and commercial experience across a wide range of areas.

Guest Victoria Mustard shines a light on some of the issues and digs into some of the data-related challenges from her perspective as Decarbonisation Strategy Lead at gas industry body Xoserve.
Xoserve occupy a critical and unique position within the heart of Great Britain’s gas industry as the Central Data Service Provider (CDSP). Their role is to facilitate the accurate and efficient flow of information between their customers and other market participants across the gas industry. They are a not-for-profit company, funded, governed and owned by the gas industry. The work they do helps to ensure that Great Britain’s gas market is efficient, transparent and reliable.
