In this episode, Jon Slowe and Sandra Trittin are joined by Peter Journeay-Kaler, Energy Analyst from International Energy Agency (IEA) and Sam Hollister, Head of Economics and Finance at LCP Delta exploring energy policy developments in several European countries.
Peter Journeay-Kaler has directly advised governments on how they can improve energy policy as a staff member at the International Energy Agency and the International Renewable Energy Agency. He also worked in the aerospace industry and holds a B.S. Physics, M.S. Aerospace Engineering and M.S. covering Energy and Environment.
Sam Hollister leads on LCP Delta's external engagement and market insight. He has over 10 years experience within energy policy and public affairs having been a Senior Director at the leading energy trade association and most recently leading the policy team at one of the UK’s largest energy retailers.

In this episode, Jon Slowe is joined by two members of our EV team, Oliver McHugh, EV Charging Research Manager and Kate Armitage, EV Contractor at LCP Delta to explore a slowdown in the rate of growth of electric vehicles, its implications for the EV charging sector, and look at battery-powered trucks.
Oliver manages LCP Delta’s EV Charging Service. He leads the research into the EV charging market and engages regularly with key industry players on various hot topics. Oliver has been at LCP Delta since 2020 and previously held a position in the consultancy team, advising clients on the energy transition.
Kate, is an Associate at LCP Delta. She has a background in energy and has worked in eMobility since 2010 when she was responsible for the electric vehicles team at EDF Energy. Kate works very closely with the fleet industry, hosting webinars, roundtables and live events that help fleets navigate the transition to net zero.

Before his entrepreneurial venture with The Mobility House in 2010, he held various management positions in the automotive and energy industries. As CSO and Managing Director at The Mobility House, he is responsible for partner sales, business development, and marketing.

As heat pumps, solar panels (often with batteries), and EV chargers sales grow, we’re seeing the emergence of ‘one-stop shops’ providing customers with a portfolio of low carbon products and services for their homes. In this episode, Jon and Sandra, explore the rise of one-stop shops with Leonardo Melo, Business Development/Product Specialist at Samsung Electronics Air Conditioner Europe Air Conditioner Europe and Klara Ottosson, Heating Business Research Manager at LCP Delta.
Leonardo Melo works at Samsung Electronics Air Conditioner Europe as a business developer. He counts over 10 years work experience in the HVAC industry with different experiences across the value chain.
Klara joined LCP Delta in December 2020, she works with the Heat Services teams where she manages the Heating Business Service, focusing on topics such as evolving routes to market, heating propositions and customer research.

In this episode we talk with Christina Hepp, Director of Innovation and Intelligence at sonnen and New Energy Business Models Research Manager, Nigel Timperley. We’re circling back to LCP Delta’s ‘Energy Supplier of the Future’ narrative and exploring sonnen’s journey – and Christina’s own thoughts – in relation to the growing convergence between energy retail and energy management.
Christina Hepp is Director of Innovation and Intelligence at sonnen, responsible for understanding and analysing changing market and customer needs to develop new business opportunities and models. Since joining in 2019, Christina has played a crucial role in maintaining sonnen’s pioneering position in the industry.
Christina holds a master’s degree in Sustainable Resource Management from the Technical University Munich. During her studies she contributed to a government-funded project on local flexibility markets at the Research Center for Energy Economics, focusing on defining the market design required to monetise small-scale distributed assets.
Prior to this, Christina graduated with a bachelor’s in international relations and environmental studies from Franklin University Switzerland, establishing the foundation for her career in environmental awareness and innovative energy solutions. She also worked in sustainable finance roles at Allianz and Unicredit.
Nigel has 26 years of experience in the energy industry including spells at Distribution System Operators (DSO), suppliers, metering companies and in energy engineering. He has also worked in financial services, the UK civil service, and as an IT consultant.
Nigel has worked for the last 17 years within the new energy sector, leading a wide range of consultancy and research projects, and running a start-up in the energy space, focused on community energy. His main interest is in the commercialisation of innovative propositions, he has been heavily involved in trials, demonstrations, and market development. More recently, he joined LCP Delta where he continues to work for multiple clients, with a strong focus on the commercial aspects of the transition.

Heat pumps sales are growing across Europe. In this episode we explore whether we are at an inflexion point in the heating transition in Europe – and the key factors that will determine how quickly heat pump sales accelerate.
In this episode, Jon Slowe and Sandra Trittin are joined by Thomas Nowak, Secretary General of the European Heat Pump Association and LCP Delta's Head of Heat Steven Ashurst.
Thomas is an ardent advocate for renewable energy, serving as the Secretary General of the European Heat Pump Association in Brussels. With personal investments in a heat pump and a PV power plant, he champions sustainable energy solutions. Thomas is a prolific author and presenter on heat pump technology, contributing significantly to international conferences. His dedication to advancing renewable energy is underscored by his previous work emphasising its economic and social benefits, driven by a background in business administration and economics.
Steven is an expert in heat decarbonisation and has been a key figure in our heat research team over the past years. In this time Steven’s key responsibilities have included: supporting, managing, and heading up the heat research service offerings, leading primary customer research projects utilising a range of methodologies, providing expert input into consulting projects, and delivering industry roundtables and summits.
