In this episode, we explore how ZeroAvia are working on decarbonising aviation using hydrogen. Jon and Sandra talk with Sergey Kiselev, Chief Business Officer at ZeroAvia, a UK/US-based company developing a hydrogen-fuel cell powertrain for light and medium-sized aircraft and Brendan Murphy, Head of Hydrogen at LCP Delta.
Sergey Kiselev is Chief Business Officer at ZeroAvia – a leading innovator in decarbonising commercial aviation, focused on the development of a hydrogen fuel cell powertrain for commercial flights. Sergey is based out of the company’s facility at Cotswold Airport in Kemble, UK.
Prior to joining ZeroAvia, Sergey led the European operations of eMotorWerks, which developed smart vehicle-grid integration hardware and software and was acquired in 2017. eMotorWerks’' JuiceBox Smart EV charging station is still the best selling product in its category in the United States for the last 5 years.
A decade leading into this, Sergey worked as a partner at McKinsey, focusing on energy, sustainability and the public sector. Sergey obtained his PhD and conducted postdoctoral research in experimental low temperature physics and nanomagnetics at Cornell University in the US.

Brendan boasts over a decade of dedicated expertise within the dynamic realms of energy and low carbon sectors, such as Heat and Hydrogen. His wealth of experience spans intricate policy and regulation, adept program management, and shrewd commercial acumen, covering a diverse spectrum of domains.
In recent years, Brendan has been instrumental in advising prominent utilities, pioneering developers, and pivotal government bodies, sculpting their strategic blueprints, investment roadmaps, and spearheading flagship low carbon policy initiatives.

In this episode, we speak to Centre for Net Zero, a non-profit, impact-driven energy research institute founded by renewable energy group Octopus Energy, we discuss the Centre's work on intelligent demand, exploring recent experiences with GB’s Demand Flexibility Service, the growing role of automation, and CNZ’s work with open and synthetic smart meter data with Lucy Yu, CEO and Izzy Woolgar, Director of External Affairs.
Lucy is CEO at Centre for Net Zero (CNZ), a research unit leading pioneering research to make a fully sustainable global energy system a reality. Lucy has 20 years of experience in technology, policy, and regulation. She has led teams in the UK government and the UN, and has run operations, public policy, research, and strategy for some of Europe’s brightest startups. Lucy is a Non-Executive Member of the Board at the Connected Places Catapult and E3G, and an Associate Fellow of Technology and Public Policy at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change.
Izzy is Director of External Affairs at Centre for Net Zero. She gets the Centre’s leading research into the hands of influential global stakeholders, driving bolder policymaking and an accelerated energy transition. Izzy is a specialist in strategic communication, with a background advising major global blue chips. She spent many years advising Centrica and bp, helping them to pivot to integrated energy companies by supporting their corporate venturing teams. She led campaigns that supported and raised the profile of their investment portfolios of high potential, green start-ups. She holds a degree from the University of Cambridge.

Alex Schoch has over 15 years’ worth of experience in growing and scaling transformative sustainable businesses. Most notably having held various leadership roles at Tesla across both the automotive and energy businesses. From leading expansion of the European business in preparation for the introduction of the Model S across 10 markets, established the EMEA Energy business, and leading Global Business Operations of the Energy business.
At Octopus Energy Group, he leads Flexibility and Electrification Programmes globally focused on developing and bringing to market the next generation products and underlying technologies spanning utility scale renewable generation through to consumer electrification. As transport and heat continue to rapidly decarbonise, helping consumers participate in a simple and easy way will be a critical factor in ensuring the success of the transition.

Additionally, served as an advisor to several Datacenter operators, Private Equity & Property Development companies on Digital Infrastructure and Energy Storage investments, in both greenfield and M&A opportunities.
With 14 years of experience in brand building, marketing and communications, Stafanie’s passion lies in decoding the essen[1]ce of brand DNA and understanding the deep "why" behind every brand. In this episode, Jon Slowe and Sandra Trittin are joined by Peter Journeay-Kaler, Energy Analyst from International Energy Agency (IEA) and Sam Hollister, Head of Economics and Finance at LCP Delta exploring energy policy developments in several European countries.
Peter Journeay-Kaler has directly advised governments on how they can improve energy policy as a staff member at the International Energy Agency and the International Renewable Energy Agency. He also worked in the aerospace industry and holds a B.S. Physics, M.S. Aerospace Engineering and M.S. covering Energy and Environment.
Sam Hollister leads on LCP Delta's external engagement and market insight. He has over 10 years experience within energy policy and public affairs having been a Senior Director at the leading energy trade association and most recently leading the policy team at one of the UK’s largest energy retailers.

In this episode, Jon Slowe is joined by two members of our EV team, Oliver McHugh, EV Charging Research Manager and Kate Armitage, EV Contractor at LCP Delta to explore a slowdown in the rate of growth of electric vehicles, its implications for the EV charging sector, and look at battery-powered trucks.
Oliver manages LCP Delta’s EV Charging Service. He leads the research into the EV charging market and engages regularly with key industry players on various hot topics. Oliver has been at LCP Delta since 2020 and previously held a position in the consultancy team, advising clients on the energy transition.
Kate, is an Associate at LCP Delta. She has a background in energy and has worked in eMobility since 2010 when she was responsible for the electric vehicles team at EDF Energy. Kate works very closely with the fleet industry, hosting webinars, roundtables and live events that help fleets navigate the transition to net zero.
